The Role: School Business Support Manager

We are seeking an organised, proactive, and highly effective School Business Support Manager to support the School Business Manager and Head of School in the strategic and operational management of the school’s business and administrative functions.

This is a key leadership role within the school, ensuring that financial, administrative, and support services operate efficiently and effectively to support teaching and learning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Assist the Head Teacher in monitoring all school budgets and accounts

·         Ensure all income and expenditure is accurately recorded, with budget records maintained and kept up to date

·         Assist in monitoring the effectiveness and value for money of services provided, including energy, supplies, and contracted services

·         Provide detailed analysis and evaluation of data, producing reports and information as required to support decision-making

·         Maintain inventories of equipment and assets and, in liaison with the Head Teacher, arrange the maintenance and/or replacement of equipment, furniture, and fittings

·         Develop, review, and adapt support and administrative procedures to maximise efficiency and effectiveness across the school

·         Negotiate, manage, and monitor contracts, tenders, and service level agreements for the provision of support services

·         Manage and supervise administrative staff, including recruitment, induction, appraisal, training, and mentoring

 

The Successful Applicant will be:

·         Experienced in a business management or support role, ideally within a school or educational setting

·         Have strong financial management, organisational, and analytical skills

·       Able to maintain high standards with honesty, professionalism and integrity

       Organised and effective and able to follow policies and professional procedures

       Creative in finding solutions and resolving issues

       Fully conversant with safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures

       Reflective and be able to review and improve procedures

       Can work independently and use their initiative

       Uphold and maintain professional standards

       Willing to contribute to the school as a whole community and help to improve it
