About this Role

Would you like to work in this exciting outstanding primary special school?   

If you would, then we would like to hear from highly motivated and enthusiastic people, who have experience of working with children with Autism and complex learning difficulties.

 You will need to have an NVQ Level 2 or substantial relevant experience.

 

Usual hours of work will be Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 3:30 pm (30 hours per week). This is a term time only post paid for 40 weeks of the year to include 5 days Inset + 30 hours training hours across the year

Flexible working options are available and pay will be adjusted accordingly.

  1. Please describe your experience of working or caring for children of pre-school or primary age children with complex special educational needs including training in the relevant learning strategies such as Makaton TEACCH, PECS.
  2. How do use ICT effectively to support learning such as use of technology (e.g. ipad, switches)?
  3. How do you demonstrate a general understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies?
  4. Describe your understanding of child development and learning.
  5. How do you self-evaluate your learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities?
  6. How do you work constructively as part of a team, understand classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these?
  7. How do you demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills?
  8. Please give examples of how you demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of children with challenging behaviour.
  9. Describe how you are calm, consistent and with a ‘can do’ attitude
  10. How do you undertake personal care roles such as toileting?
