About this Role

Would you like to work in this exciting Outstanding primary special school?

If so, we would like to hear from highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed individuals who have experience of supporting children with Autism, complex learning difficulties and additional needs.

As a Level 3 Learning Support Assistant, you will work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team to support pupils to access learning, develop communication skills, build independence and achieve their individual outcomes. You will be expected to use your initiative, contribute to planning and assessment, and support the implementation of personalised learning programmes under the direction of the class teacher.

Applicants should hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education or a related field, or have substantial relevant experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Usual hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm (30 hours per week). This is a term-time only position paid for 40 weeks per year, including 5 INSET days and 30 hours of additional training across the academic year.

Flexible working options may be available, and salary will be adjusted accordingly.

Oakleigh School and the Acorn Early Years Centre are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and all pre-employment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

This post is currently based within Oakleigh School's provision at our Queenswell site (N20 0NQ). However, Oakleigh School operates across multiple sites and, should operational needs require, the successful candidate may be asked to work at or transfer between other school sites following appointment.

Please note: We believe AI should enhance, not replace, your personal expression when writing about your experience and suitability for this role. We are interested in hearing about your own experiences, reflections and motivations. Applications that do not demonstrate personal insight may not be shortlisted.
